Automotive or Truck Transport Mechanic

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a variety of field surveys using RTK GPS survey equipment including preliminary topographic surveys, construction layout surveys, progress quantity surveys and as-built record surveys.
  • Setup and maintain survey control points for a project to ensure accuracy.
  • Conduct inventory surveys for the aggregate production section.
  • Assist in the preparation of digital terrain models for construction and quantity take-offs.
  • Set up GPS Machine Control equipment including the preparation of machine design files required for the project.
  • Review design drawings and specifications, survey records and other documents related to construction projects and assist site superintendent and supervisor with interpretation when required.
  • Assist with project designs and quantity take offs for estimating purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities for all Mine Site Operations including resources from several internal departments to support the needs of the customer and business.
  • Review and prepare tender submissions, estimates & quotes.
  • Manage all operational contracts, capital projects, and work requests on Mine property.
  • Monitor production rates to ensure projects are on target for safety, budget & schedule.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture within the work group by encouraging the identification of hazards and developing quality corrective actions by implementing effective changes to procedures, training, and equipment when deemed necessary.
  • Manage the safety program through the identification of safety concerns on the job site and instituting effective corrective actions.

Job Summary: Coordinate, plan and execute the day-to-day operations of our truck/tractor fleet.
Hours: Monday to Friday; 6:30am to 3:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Manage truck drivers’ schedules and routes based on both external customer and internal project requirements.
  • Lead safety discussions and morning lineup meetings with drivers.
  • Coordinate maintenance of truck/trailer fleet with the maintenance department to minimize disruptions to fleet availability.
  • Order permits for over dimensional, out of province and other specialty loads as required.
  • Prepare BOL,TDG and rental ticket paperwork.
  • Manage the aggregate load ticket system including assignment of tickets to drivers and reconciliation of tickets when load is completed, and ticket is returned.
  • Schedule freight to be picked up and delivered.
  • Manage truck/trailer provincial safety and registration.
  • Gather employee time cards, verify/approve and forward to payroll.
  • Oversee GPS tracking software to ensure compliance with all applicable traffic laws.
  • Gather information on load weights and dimensions and enter into the company's spreadsheets.
  • Collect, review, and manage the company’s driver profile report.
